~ Yoga ~
When the Covid-19 pandemic first began back in March 2020, I remember feeling uneasy and unsettled, in a midst of uncertainty. During this time, I turned to yoga. Every morning, I arrived on the mat and just for a few moments, tuned out the rest of the world. While everything seemed out of place, this daily practice provided some clarity, helping me navigate through all the external noise. At first, I did not have the patience. Sometimes I did not feel like showing up to the mat. But afterwards, I was rewarded with an inner sense of empowerment that I could manage the unknown that was coming my way. I could find a place of inner solace, stillness, and resilience. Aside from the physical benefits —greater strength and flexibility—there was so much I gained psychologically —I found joy, gratitude, and consolation through increased mindfulness and reflection.
Today, I still turn to yoga in times when my body and mind are in need of physical and mental relaxation and calmness.
