Hi there! I’m Katie, a graduate student based in New York City. I have a deep appreciation for nourishing food, enjoyable movement, and overall happiness. I live and lead with one goal in mind: to cultivate a lifestyle enriched with passion, and share it with others to connect, uplift, and inspire.

I like to get to know a lot of different people and through a food and movement, I have formed some of my most genuine and beloved pleasures, adventures, and relationships– from family holiday meal traditions, to picnics with classmates, to crossing race finish lines with friends. Shared meals and activities are the ways I connect with people on a deep level. And these relationships have spanned the world. No matter who we are, or where we’ve come from, we all eat and move to live, to grow, and to nourish. I have also witnessed the important synergy among proper sustenance, activity, and recovery during trying times of injury and healing. From these enriching experiences and my personal journey, I became interested in the intersection of food, science, movement, and health for promotion of wellbeing, inspiring me to study this blend of interests at the undergraduate and graduate levels, pursue a career in nutrition, and empower surrounding communities, towards a mission of enhancing health through food and lifestyle.

My studies and outside work have allowed me to dive deeper, learning how food and movement intertwine with physical, mental, and emotional wellness, with aims of helping others develop a fulfilling, pleasurable, and harmonious relationship among themselves, food, and their bodies. In the midst of all of what we hear about nutrition and wellness—whether on the news, social media, or by word of mouth—I find appreciation in reconnecting others to a pleasurable lifestyle, accompanied by those near and dear.

In this portfolio, I share not only highlights of my academics and work, but also my love for cooking, movement, nature, and traveling. Whether it be chef-ing up a new recipe, discovering a new bike-route, or exploring a new city, I find joy in the day-to-day pleasures and adventures that make life rich, exciting, and meaningful.

Enjoy!
